FLEXIBLE DIES

EXCEPTIONAL FLEXIBLE DIES WITH EXPERIENCED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT

IMPACT’s flexible rotary dies are easy to mount and register and are available for all cylinder types (magnetic or non-magnetic). These rotary dies are ideal for a wide range of applications including labels, forms, tags, multi-level cutting and perforation for direct mail.

FLEXIBLE DIE TOLERANCES

Most flexible dies are manufactured from a precision grade carbon steel with a thru-hardness of 45-47 Rockwell C, a tensile strength of 240,000 PSI which makes this steel hard and tough. Because we design each die for our customers’ unique applications, we use other steel options based on the specific job requirements.

FLEXIBLE DIE LIFE EXPECTANCY

Die life is generally “Job Specific” and affected by many influences such as:

• Care and handling procedures

• Type of material being cut

• Type of press or diecutter used

• Type of ink used

• Cutting pressures required

• Coatings applied to die

MINIMUM SPACE BLADING

Depends on the depth of the cutting knives which is a direct relationship to the material being converted.

Example: Converting a .010” material (+.004”) which is a .014” machine depth will accomodate .034” between two knives and a min. radius of .017”.

PRESS OEM PARTNERSHIP

IMPACT has partnered with leading rotary die cutter manufacturers to provide custom rotary flexible dies for a wide range of die cutter presses. Our collaboration with press manufacturers gives our customers a seamless experience when ordering dies. No more speculation, our access to the specs of your machine allows us to do the work for you.

FEATURES

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

MICROPERF

The Microperf uses smaller teeth per inch and is ideal for a variety of commercial printing applications such as insurance cards, tear-off or coupon mailings.

PIGGYBACK KISS CUTTING

Double layer labels require two separate blades to cut to different depths, allowing the label to be removed from the sheet with a top label cut but still attached. The precision achieved with piggy back kiss cutting is imperative to avoid a cracked liner.

EJECTION FINGERS

Achieve optimal speeds by eliminating sticking of the material and improving stripping with the incorporation of ejection fingers. This feature allow for easy removal of the finished product in the converting or cutting process of production.

SLIT OVERPERF

Kiss cut the face of the material and perforate the liner on the same line within one die. Ideal for commercial printers and in a variety of applications such as forms with labels.

ONE SOURCE FOR ALL

IMPACT’s flexible dies are designed to fit a wide variety of applications including:

  • Machine Sharpened Flexible
  • Rotary Dies
  • Matched Set Flexible Dies:
    • Crush Cut
    • RP™ (Rotary Pressure)
    • Dual Cut Crease
  • Dies for Specialty Applications
  • Eagle Dies

The Moment of IMPACT

IMPACT’s industry knowledge is deep and vast, with experience and solutions for the growing demands of its customers’ converting needs. The experts at IMPACT look several steps downstream at its customer’s customers. The company can create a “moment of impact” when the consumer sees its product. IMPACT gives them the resources of experience, knowledge, and solutions to create – their moment of impact.

Customers benefiting from IMPACT’s one-stop-shop offerings include large national integrators with 200-300 facilities producing a wide range of items. They gain efficiencies by having one company service them. Converting is more than just cutting a box – it’s also folding, creasing, scoring it, making an opening feature that will tear when it’s supposed to but not before. IMPACT has found that most converters will use a combination of means to convert, cut, crease, and fold material. IMPACT is incentivized to offer the best solutions that meet all its customers’ requirements.
